Evan and I took a quick 48 (maybe less than 48 hr flight) hour trip to Venice from London. It goes down as the easiest trip we have done. For one, we had no flight delays (finally our travel karma has kicked in) & the flight is less than two hours. Not to mention, as soon as you fly into Venice, there is a water taxi that takes you from the terminal to the hotel. I know people had said this but i did not realize the extent of what it meant. These boats for one are gorgeous they are the wooden boots that you can rent in Lake Como- so stunning. The trip started immediately, we landed in the evening, so the views driving in on the boat were unreal. I could not stop taking pictures. We got to our hotel, Hotel Flora, which has the cutest bar of all time, got a glass of wine & then got ready for the evening. 

Our first stop was Gritti Palace, this stunning 5 star hotel was recommended to us for drinks as it's an “institution.” There was a piano player singing Elton John and Adele, incredible Italian bar snacks (my fav: hazelnuts, chips and olives) and amazing cocktails. We were going to take a public water boat to dinner that evening at Antiche Campania but because there was a strike, we took a private boat! ​All of the water taxi experiences were quite memorable. 

The following day we did a tourist day of all of the main sites to see plus a visit to a tailor which I surprised Evan with. His clothes were the wildest (Sartoria Puppato Franco) ! We had lunch at AL Covo which was amazing- cuttlefish was a thing everywhere but so was spider crab. This lunch was super fantastic. Evan had a spider crab spaghetti. Post lunch we had a coffee at Florian Cafe which seems touristy but was fun with the history of the building. We toured Doges Palace & the Basilica. The gold was unreal. We had Harrys on a list to grab drinks at as it is one of our friends favorites. It is the OG and if you do not know it is famous for the bellini- I had to google that one before we visited! It was packed to the brim but we managed to get a seat which was excellent for drinks & people watching. 

Two amazing meals in Venice but our dinner that night stole the show- Hosteria Castello.
