About me.
Tinsley Emerson
I'm Tinsley. I am 30 years old, living in London, England. I never thought I would end up in the London but after my husband and I got married in May 2023 we moved shortly after from our home in Chicago. We lived in Chicago, IL for about four years. Prior to that, I spent most of my life in Houston, TX, with four years in Baton Rouge, LA, for college.
I did not travel much growing up as a kid. I had never been out of the country until I was in college, and pretty much the only vacation my family consistently took was skiing for spring break every year (which I am very grateful for.) It was not until my second year out of college that I started getting the travel bug. I was finally making money and able to afford a few weekend trips. This was when I discovered my love of planning.
I never thought of myself as much of a reader or researcher until planning trips. I am a little OCD about crafting the perfect vacation and not missing any spots. Now, I love a good itinerary.
Prior to moving to Europe, I would plan a trip starting with the restaurants. Before the hotel, before the flight, I was online digging up the top newest, trendiest, or most unique places in town. I had alarms set to book reservations as soon as they open up online. Now, Evan and I are trying to travel as much as we can while we are living over here and booking some pretty last-minute trips. I am learning as we go along. Some of these cities we are traveling too I have not spent much time researching so I hope to share my insights and findings that can help ease your travel planning.
Throughout the years, friends asked me for my travel guides or ideas of restaurants and where to travel next. Which is why I decided to put everything online. The goal is to create a one-stop site that makes planning one's next vacation fun and stress-free. After all, planning and traveling [and eating] are my favorite hobbies.
I have uploaded my city guides and posted a few of my recommendations.
A little more about me so you can understand my selections in places to visit, eat and stay
Expenses. Don't get me wrong, I love a good splurge, but I also like to be smart when it comes to money. Sometimes (maybe most times), I would prefer to save on the hotel but indulge in a fancy dinner or two. (Or thats just my husband making me practical.)
I like to eat out, and Tasting Menus are my guilty pleasure. Lucky for me, most of the larger cities I have lived (Houston, Chicago, London) have a ton of tasting menus and great restaurants.
That's about all you need to know… for now. I'll share my insights on travel, restaurant recs, and some helpful tips I have learned along the way.
See you around,
Tinsley
