Uchi- check Houston and Austin for my recs on Uchi! Linger: an old mortuary turned into a restaurant in the highlands. Head to the rooftop for good scenery & cocktails. Safta- an Israeli restaurant located in the source hotel. I was dying to go here as the chefs had worked at other spots like Zahav in Philly & saba/Shaya in Nola. All the food was fantastic here. If you don't like a strong martini, do not order it; the other cocktails are excellent. Two recommendations: fireside chat & brave new world. My food recommendations include the salatim, harissa chicken, fattoush, and the lamb dish. America Elm- from the name you can most likely pick up, this is an American restaurant. If you are craving burgers and "taters," this is your spot. This menu has some variety as it has scallops, fish options, and an impossible burger. This restaurant will suit the picky eaters and all the allergies (df, gf, vg). ash'kara- Indian spot, they have gluten-free pita bread! The kind that puffs up and is warm and tasty. Make sure to order the hummus. Our group tried the chicken, lamb, and carrots. The carrots might have been my favorite dish. This spot also has fun CBD cocktails if you are looking for something non-alcoholic. Salt: boulder, Mexican food with great tacos and vegetarian options. For lunch, the power bowl is delicious. Annette: located at Stanley marketplace, farm to table restaurant with excellent cocktails- loving cup & the buzz word were our favorites. We ordered all of the salads, the deviled eggs, and chicken! I had to convince everyone to try all three salad dishes, and we were all thoroughly impressed. Pilmouth: farm to table spot in LoDo Bonnie Brae: best pizza in town, a cute area close to cherry creek Le bilboquet: french brasserie in cherry creek shopping center. A must for any birthday. The waiters come out with sparklers dancing! Happy Camper: fun pizza and drink spot from Chicago! The patio is decorated like a "happy trailer park" and is an excellent option for large groups. drink death & co: fun cocktails in five points, great for dates or groups. An offshoot of a New York cocktail bar. This spot uses the tock reservation system. The True Romance is a win if you like tequila & mezcal. Another good drink option is the last man standing. Check the menu here. stay the source hotel- is located in river north. this hotel has both great restaurants and a rooftop bar. The style is what they call "Japanese Scandinavian." the ramble hotel- located in five points, well designed and furnished hotel with Death & Co. downstairs. do Union Station- in the heart of downtown. Fun to be in the hubbub of what is union station. There are many options to grab drinks or a bite to eat. Stoic & Genuine is our favorite. Fiddlers Green- an outdoor concert venue located in the DTC (denver tech center). We saw Mumford & Sons and Lord Huron here. The general admission tickets are on the hill, so bring something to sit on. Red Rocks- The best spot to see a concert. Arrive early and tailgate. The town surrounding Red Rocks is charming- Morrison. People love to grab drinks on the rooftop of Tony Rigatoni's or grab wings at Willies. Larimer square- great shopping, dining, and spots to grab drinks Grab an ice cream at little man ice cream Bike through downtown, start a union station and cycle through Larimer, five points, and highlands. Pop in the breweries and check out the street art around RINO hikes: Mount Falcon- a nice trail by red rocks. My recommendation would be to take up the turkey trot to castle trail and loopback. It is a total of 6 miles. Easy, family, and dog friendly. The views are breath taking. Mt. Bierstadt- 14er about an hour and a half from Denver. Moderate 14er and heavily trafficked. This trail is family-friendly, except the walk to get the top is very rocky - hands required. Red Rocks Amphitheater- not quite a hike but fun to visit on the weekends. Lots of locals work out here and run the steps. The Incline- strenuous 1000 step straight up hike. Garden of the Gods- very short hike, heavily trafficked but has beautiful rock formations. Flat Irons- fun hike in boulder. One of my favorites. intermediate-difficult. involves climbing when you get to the top. The views from the top are worth it! Castle Rock- short and easy hike about 1 mile long. If you tackle castle rock, it's close to the garden of the gods so you can do two hikes in one day. Roxborough Park- one of Evan's favorite state parks. This park also has a lot of red sandstone formations. There are multiple paths. A short family-friendly hike with a viewing area and a longer option. check out my instagram story for more. |
