Hotels:
Waldorf Casa Marina- Gorgeous resort right on the beach. Evan and I went here for yoga on the beach one morning. The yoga is at 8 am every Tuesday and Thursday. We got massages on the beach as well- such a great experience. This resort has a full spa, gym, and restaurant. Marquesa- a boutique hotel located in the middle of Key West. Real World Key West House- need I say more... Knowles Ln Home- pool, large kitchen, four bed, three bath Historic District Home- private pool, three bed, one bath Key West Cottage- 1 bed, two baths in Bahama village Eat: Thirsty mermaid- similar concept and owners to Little Pearl. We popped in here for wine and ceviche. I would recommend starting with the ceviche. The concept is more casual than the little pearl. The menu has three different burgers; if you're a kimchi fan, order the Asian burger. Little pearl- Same owners as Little Mermaid. When I visited Little Pearl, they ran a concept called "The Little Pearl: Pop Up," offering a 4-course meal. The best meal we had on the island. The décor was right up my alley. It reminded me of a spot that you might find tucked away in the Garden District of New Orleans. The options for starters were niçoise salad, chowder, & escargot. For dinner, roasted carrot salad, curry, and calamari steak. For the main: Osso Bucco, seafood pot pie, and fresh catch. For dessert, popcorn crème Brulee, chocolate tart, and cheese plates. Along with the four courses, you can add on ceviche or oysters. We went with a group of 7, and the family ordered everything on the menu. I heard zero complaints, so you can't go wrong. I heard the chowder, and Osso Bucco were the real winners of the night, though! Just a heads up, this spot only has beer and wine. Prime steakhouse- steakhouse located close to sunset pier. Great views from the patio. Excellent steak in key west. Seven fish- restaurant on Truman Ave. Close to the Key West cemetery. Serving up seafood and will cook your local catch to your preference. Santiagos Bodega- Spanish restaurant recommended to us by friends. We did not try it, but the neighborhood it's in is charming. We loved Petronia St. It Has a brunch menu and regular menu. Bien Key West- Caribbean food located close to the water by the Dry Tortugas Ferry Half shell- The best soft shell crab on the island. We did not have time to stop in, but my friends who come over three times a year make this spot a must. Café Marquesa- located in the Marquesa hotel. Everyone that works here is excellent! All the waiters were such great personalities. We went here for New Year's Eve, so the wine was flowing. I even ordered two dishes- the scallops and salmon! They were incredible. We started with caviar and ended with a pile of ice cream. And more champagne! Bad Boy Burrito- see my right up on my Islamorada page; it's the same place! A must for lunch. Blue Heaven- historic restaurant, tourist trap but a must! The key lime pie is said to be the best. The Meringue on top of the pie was larger than the key lime fill itself. Old Town Mexican- great margaritas right on Duval St they have fun specials like a kiwi margarita or grilled pineapple. If you need a pick me up, get the queso with chorizo! General Horseplay- fun bar with live music in Key West great spot if you are looking for party vibes. Key West Check List: Southernmost Point- this spot has a long line of tourists waiting to take pictures. If you want a picture go early in the morning. Truman's Little White House- Where President Truman vacationed, make sure to buy tickets online or at the door. The home has been restored back to its original glory down to the furniture. Key West Lighthouse Hemmingway House- Hemingways home that one of his wives bought him. Buy your ticket in advance as the line gets long. Duval St. Dry Tortugas- an all-day excursion to this site. Two options- ferry or private charter. Private charters hold up to 6 people costing around 2k. This option allows guests to bring food and drinks on board and experience dry Tortugas faster and more privately than the ferry. The ferry takes about 6 hours there and back. This national park is known for the fort and crystal clear water. Mallory Square Smathers Beach Sunset Pier |
