Evan and I went to San Sebastian for a weekend since we are now living in London. The flight was a short two hour flight from London Gatwick to Bilbao. I had not planned out how we were going to get from Bilbao to Donostia San Sebastian but I knew there was a bus that ran every 15 min and taxis were an option. When i inquired with our hotel about providing transportation they quote 220 euro, so, i was hopeful we would figure out the bus situation.
The bus was a cinch. First of all the bus stop is located right outside baggage claim. There is a ticket counter to buy tickets (17 euro a head) right by the door or you can download the app- LurtTicket. Both are super easy. The bus makes two stops (one along the way) and the final being to the bus station in San Sebastian. Easy! When we got outside the bus station the taxi line was super long so we ended up walking to our hotel! (tip- we were told to go into a hotel to call taxis because they come faster that way). We stayed at Villa Soro which was incredible. Our room and bathroom were huge and lovely. The bathrooms were stocked with diptique products and turn down service included a snack and full vase of water every night. The hotel had a great gym with new technogym equipment, bikes (with locks) for guests to use, and a buffet style breakfast every am (22 euro a head). my meal recommendations + must do's + hotel recs for San Sebastian: Hotels: Villa Cristina Maria- Marriott affiliated, centrally located, 5 star Villa Favorita- located on la concha beach, 5 star, has a great bar and 2 Michelin star restaurant.
