21 Club (just closed)- A classic restaurant in NYC located in midtown. I am hoping someone will buy this restaurant because it has so much history. The restaurant is great for business lunch or boozy lunch or dinner. There are deal toys hanging from the ceiling. Celebrities are known for having tables here too! The restaurant used to be home to a speakeasy that the 21 Club turned into a wine cellar underneath the restaurant. Its a treat to get to see the space! As far as the cuisine goes- you cant go wrong with the burger! Claudette Elios- My mothers favorite restaurant in NYC. This italian spot is in the Upper East Side and a neighborhood spot for the locals. To make a reservation call the restaurant at 9-10 am EST the day of. I am not going to bother suggesting food or wine because the staff has that covered. Be prepared to not use menus and describe what you are in the mood for! This place is quite the treat! L'Artusi- The first time I went to L''Artusi, my BFF set an alarm to make a reservation right when they went live online! This place is smack dab in the center of West Village and known for celeb spottings. Per Se- Thomas Keller tasting menu. Hands down one of my favorite tasting menus too date. Each bite was meant to remind you of a memory and everything tasted so familiar. My favorite course was the peanut butter and jelly dish. The service was impeccable and we got to meet Thomas Keller, which was a true highlight. If you visit, i hope he will be there! The interiors are what you would expect for a five star restaurant. The front doors are the best spot and make for a perfect photo op. However, Per Se is located on the second floor of an office building. Very unusual and makes for some interesting navigation to the main entrance. Le Cou Cou - from an interiors standpoint one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. This spot is bar goals! I could not stop embarrasing myself and taking pictures. Le Cou Cou is the perfect date night. The tables have real candelabras and the food is chefs kiss. Polo Bar - Polo Bar is easily one of the hardest restaurants to get into in NYC. It’s gorgeous, quaint and has excellent martinis. BOBO- west village restaurant located in a chic townhouse. Great spot for a date or dinner with the girls. This townhouse has multiple levels. First level has a bar and some small tables while the second level has soft banquettes with warm lighting. I had a girls dinner in the winter here. One of my favorite memories to date. Charlie Bird- RUN DMC vibes. Charlie Bird is in soho and is pumping the hip hop music. This spot is great for a weeknight dinner or out with friends on the weekend. Charlie Bird serves up some great Italian fare, but you cannot go wrong with the chicken or the trout! Daniel- 3 star tasting menu located in Upper East Side. Stunning. guests have the option of the space three course or seven course tasting menu! Daniel has a beautiful bar that opens up into the main dining room. The ceiling is stunning. Mainly white interiors this restaurant is perfect for special occasions. When I visited, we went with the 7 course tasting menu. It was a great experience however, if i had to choose between Per Se or Daniel. I hate to pick favorites but Per Se stole the show. Carbonne- Italian restaurant located in SOHO. Michelin star Italian spot. Carbonne is famous and brought to you by MFG. You can expect nothing but the best from service, interiors and food from all MFG resturants. Jajaja- Mexican spot with fantastic cocktails and margaritas. Waverly Inn- “historic” restaurant near west village. This spot has very dark interiors and is perfect for a date night. Buzzy spot known for the occasional celeb spotting. JoJo-perfect dinner restaurant for a gals dinner or date night. Located in the cutest townhouse on the UES. JOJO is a Jean George restaurant with fanatasic fish and vegetable dishes! This organic restaurant is farm to table is a must in NYC. Open for brunch and dinner. There is a small bar that seats four if you are in the area and want to grab a drink. Brunch: brunch in NYC deserves a whole seperate category. The brunch in NYC (so far) does not match up to any other city. Jacks Wife Freda- numero uno on my favorite brunch spots too date. It pleases every type of eater. They offer lunch, brunch, breakfast, vegan, meaty, bready... you name it! My table had the breakfast bowl, shackshuka, bread and butter avocado toast, the madame freda. No one had a bad meal! Sadelles- part of the Carbonne family. Known for their smoked fish platter for 4 and bagels. Drink: Bemelmans Bar - this will forever be my favorite place to grab drinks in NYC. it is very nostalgic to me. everytime i went to the city with my mom we had to have a drink here! So many happy, funny, unforgettable memories here! Also, its the best dirty martini. Plus, who does not love bar snacks and live jazz. Plus, if you are an art fan or Madeleine fan, the walls are painted from the same artist that illustrated the Madeleine books. The Garret- oh the garret, the best surprise there ever was at a five guys! Classified (hidden in Newark Airport) - A speakeasy hidden in an airport, need I say more? I have yet to be let in here and am still bitter about it! If you ever have an international layover or want to be fancy before a flight. Snag a reservation here!
