Place to Stay:
Little Nell Hotel Jerome St Regis Molly Gibson Hotel- Evan and I stayed here for fourth of July. We actually preferred it to the W Hotel (during Covid times). There is no elevator, each place has a mini fridge. Its closer to the hotel Jerome and further away from town than say little Nell or W, however, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. A good bang for the buck! W Hotel Limelight Hotel Durant Places to Eat: Casa Tua- This is my favorite restaurant in Aspen. The decor, drinks and food are out of this world. The gin and tonics are tied for 1st place with BCN in Houston for best g&t in America. Matsuhisa- make sure you start with the yellowtail with jalapenos. All of their specials are worth trying. If you cannot get a reservation try to walk in. They save a few tables for walk-ins. Clarks Oyster Bar- if you are craving oysters, aperol spritz and shoe string french fries this is your spot! Meat and Cheese French Alpine- Evan and I went here for dinner. The ambience was amazing. We got the fondue, which we are not the biggest fondue people, so it was not our favorite part of the meal. However, the escargot & scallops were a win! Jing Sushi- my sisters all-time favorite sushi spot. The owner is guaranteed to show you a good time and maybe even bring you a sake bomb or two! Ellina- very underrated Italian spot with a great wine list Hooch- fun speakeasy & cocktail bar Catch Steak Chica Las Montanas Activities: Road bike- rent road bikes at Aspen Bicycles. There are plenty of rides: Maroon Bells, Woody Creek Trail, Independence Trail. My favorite ride is up to Pine creek Cookhouse. Make a reservation for lunch or get the picnic basket to go. Drive Independence Pass Shop through Aspen Village- have you heard of kemosabe? Hikes: Ute Trail- Very Difficult but my favorite. Hike all the way to the top of the mountain and then chair lift down (after having a glass of champagne or a cold beer at the top) Sunnyside Smugglers Hunters creek Maroon Bells Cathedral Trail- If you have lunch at Pinecreek, this is a good trail to do before or after. The path connects right by the entrance to the restaurant. Hike to Creste Butte |
