Evan and I biked 18 miles to Sugar Loaf Key. They have a small farmers market by the Sugar Loaf Lodge & Tiki Bar. It is every Friday morning until 2 pm. The farmers market had some great food vendors. We tried everything. First stop, we went to the Mediterranean vendor. There were Dolmades, homemade pita, regular hummus, basil hummus, falafel, yogurt balls, and a homemade spice mix. We got one of everything but the winners were the basil hummus and falafel. Next, we went to the cheese and meat vendor. They recommended their cheese with balsamic. The next vendor was probably my favorite. See photos on left. Sushi, poke bowls... the works. But I ordered the seared tuna with special sauce! A must if you happen to stop at this market. Evan got us cold brew that was actually from islamorada and then he went to the bakery tent for a blueberry stuffed croissant. The market also had some art vendors, fruit and vegetable stand, and crafts.
